TEACHING PRACTICE FIRST PHASE - WEEK 7
TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK : 7
MONDAY TO FRIDAY 20/11/2023 - 24/11/2023.
REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
On the first day, Monday, six of us teacher trainies arrived at the school at exactly 9 30 and after that we signed the register and today we had assembly we all the trainees attended the assembly then the first period I had class 9 A which is my concerned class.Today I taught one topic in that period "Diversity in excretion" from the chapter Excretion to maintain homeostasis and then second period, third period I was free so I did my works.Then 4th period I got a substitution class at 9 A then I taught the topic 'Excretion in plants '. Fifth and sixth period was free for me.During the 7th period I had substitution class at 9B there I taught the topic 'Experiment to find out the presence of urea in urine..Then we returned after signing the register at 3:45pm.
On the second day, Tuesday, six of us teacher trainies arrived at the school at exactly 9 30 and after that we signed the register and I had substitution class at 9 B and I took the topic , ' Role of kidney in maintaining homeostasis of the body.' Then upto fifth period I had no classes.Then the sixth period I got substitution class at 9B where I took the topic Diseases affecting kidney .Last period was free for me and I did my works.During the fourth period I got a substitution period in my concerned class 9 A then I took the topic structure of nephron there and during the sixth period again I had substitution class at 9 B and I taught the topic ' Diseases affecting kidney ' and during the last period I was free. And after that the bell was rung and we left the school at 3.46 pm.
On the third day, Wednesday, six of us teacher trainies arrived at the school at exactly 9 30 and after that we signed the register and I had substitution class 9th B where I took the topic 'hemodialysis .Then the second period a free eye testing campaign was held at school I had duty there.During the third period I got a substitution period in my concerned class 9 A then I took the topic ' Importance of exercise there.Then during the fourth period I had substitution class at 8 D and during the fifth period again I had substitution class at 9 B and I taught the topic ' Kidney transplantation ' and the sixth period and the last period was also free for me And after that the bell was rung and we left the school at 3.46 pm.
On the fourth day, thursday, six of us teacher trainies arrived at the school at exactly 9. 30 and after that we signed the register and today we had assembly we all the trainees attended the assembly then the first period I had class 9 A where I took individual remedial teaching and the second period was free for me.And the third period I had substitution class at 9A where I took the topic voluntary and involuntary muscles then the periods upto noon was free and during the last period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic excreation in animals.And after that the bell was rung and we left the school at 3.46 pm.
On the fifth day, Friday, six of us teacher trainies arrived at the school at exactly 9.10 and after that we signed the register and I had substitution class 9th A where I took the topic Different types of muscles and then the second period I had substitution class at 8 A.And during the third and fourth period I got substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic excretion in plants and importance of exercise there.In the afternoon during the sixth period I had substitution class at 9 A where I took the topic Muscle fatigue there.
And after that the bell was rung and we left the school at 3.46 pm.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In this week the students 9A class were taught using of teaching manual from their Fifth chapter and Sixth chapter from part 2 of their biology textbook .The topics are Diversity in excretion, Excretion in plants, Importance of exercise, Voluntary and involuntary movements, Different types of muscles and muscle fatigue
The reflective journals were also done this week.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During the first four days of the week district youth festival was conducted at Kollam many of our students had participated in it and won prizes.
As part of national service scheme of the school a free eye testing campaign was held at school.
OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
The students of 9A class were given teaching manual oriented activity based classroom experience. Six teaching manual of 9A class were completed effectively. charts, word cards working models and slides were prepared for 9A class . Students were given followup activities like assignments.
