TEACHING PRACTICE FIRST PHASE - WEEK 8
During the fourth day we the teacher trainees reached school at 9.30 am after signing up the register we had assembly today.The first two periods was free for me in the third period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Human skeleton.Fourth period was free for me.During the 5th period again I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Role of muscles in the movement of forearm during the sixth and seventh period was free for me and we left school at 3.45pm

MONDAY TO FRIDAY 27/11/2023 - 01/12/2023.
REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
Today the first day of this week we all the six teacher trainees reached school at 9.30 am.During the first period I had class at 9 A where I took the topic Human Skeletal System then the second and third period was free for me.During the fourth period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Voluntary and involuntary muscles During the sixth period we the teacher trainees conducted a quiz competition and poster making competition for interested students from various classes of 8,9 and 10 based on International day of violence against women during the seventh period I had substitution class at 9 A where I took the topic Role of muscles in the movement of forearm and we left the school at 3.40 after signing the register.
During the second day of this week there were no classes because of cluster meeting of teachersin Kollam district.
During the third day of this week Wednesday six of us teacher traineees reached school at 9.30 am and after signing the register I had class in my concerned class 9 A where I took the topic Different types of joints. Today our class teacher Sreedevi miss had came to observe the class and miss observed my class during the first period and gave suggestions. The second period was free for me During the third period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Different types of muscles.Fourth period was free for me.During the fifth period we conducted conscentization programme for students of standard 9 On the topic Complications of relationships during adolescence and respected head master inaugurated the programme.During the 6 th period a poster presentation campaign as part of Vimukthi by Kerala police was there at school we also went for watching the posters during the last period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Muscle fatigue.Today there was also a blood donation camp in school as part of the activities of NSS upto 1.00pm.After 3.40 we signed the register and left the school.
During the last day of this week we reached the school at 9.15 am . During the second period I had substitution class at 8B.Third period I had substitution class at 9A where I taught the topic structure of joints.Fourth period was free for me and during the fifth period I had substitution class at 9 B where I took the topic Different types of joints and at 4.00 '0 clock we left the school.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In this week the students 9A class were taught using of teaching manual from their Sixth chapter from part 2 of their biology textbook .The topics are Human Skeletal System , Role of muscles in the movement of forearm, Different types of joints, structure of joints.
The reflective journals were also done this week.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During the first day Monday of this week we the teacher trainees conducted school based activity based on International day of violence against women.we conducted a quiz programme and a poster competition programme for students. Anaswara B from class 10.C won first prize in quiz competition and Ajmal Firoz of class 9 E won first place in poster making competition.

OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
The students of 9A class were given teaching manual oriented activity based classroom experience. Four teaching manual of 9A class were completed effectively. charts, word cards working models and slides were prepared for 9A class . Students were given followup activities like assignments.
Suggestions made by teacher educator for further improvement
1. LESSON TEMPLATE
POSITIVES: All components of lesson plan including targeted learning objectives are clearly defined, reflects all important concepts, prerequisites well accomodated ,clear and accurate classroom interaction procedure.
2.INTRODUCTION OF THE LESSON
POSITIVES: Good, prerequisites checked well, aroused interest, curiosity, given mental readiness.
3.DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON
POSITIVES: Meaning ful, Open ended questions were used to develop the lesson, self construction of knowledge is encouraged, multi level questions were used to develop the lesson, scaffolding, individual attention given well, teacher movement purposeful, meaningful and reinforcement was given at times of some activity.
NEGATIVES: Could have been asked to students to work the model, Speed could be reduced, students could be asked to move the joints at ones working model/ aids used once, could be done systematically as per the lesson plan, reinforcement reduced,Mass answering is seen but later controlled, Sound, voice modulation improve more.
4. AUDIO VISUAL AIDS
POSITIVES: Chart good, legible,neat, good learning aids / models used well, Black board used well to introduce New terms.
NEGATIVES: Once the chart is used, remove it when going to next activity, can use more visible sketch pen to write in my chart.
5.LEARNING EXPERIENCE
POSITIVES: Varied,real life related,age appropriate, adequate, interesting.
6.LEARNER INVOLVEMENT
POSITIVES: All given equal oppertunities ,initiativeness of autonomy encouraged.
NEGATIVES: Group activity arrange students in small groups.
7.CONTENT MASTERY
POSITIVES: Good, adequately delivered ,good supplimentary knowledge.
8.CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
POSITIVES: Knows the names of all students,good, controls misconduct well.
9.CLOSURE OF THE LESSON
POSITIVES: Summarised and reviewed all points well using all learning aids.
10.ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
POSITIVES: Formative evaluation is given /done through out, as per objectives which were prefined.
