TEACHING PRACTICE SECOND PHASE - WEEK : 1
TEACHING PRACTICE
INTRODUCTION
Our second phase of teaching practice is at Vivekananda V$ HSS Poredom , Chadayamangalam from 10/06/2024. The Principal of Sabarigiri College of Education, Dr.G.Roy sir alloted nine students to Vivekananda V$ HSS Poredom , Chadayamangalam . Anjitha and me from Natural Science Department, Fathima and Arundhati from Physical Science Department, Arya, Hizana and Abin from English Department, Devu and Arsha from mathematics option were the selected teachers. All of our teachers in charges, especially Sreedevi teacher provided us with all necessary instructions, guidance and support for completing our teaching manual, selecting activities for models for teaching and preparing teaching aids for teaching practice.
TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 1: " MONDAY FRIDAY " : 10/06/2024 - 14/06/2024.
Reflection on School experience
We the teacher trainees alloted to Vivekananda V$ HSS Poredom , Chadayamangalam, reached school right at 9.30 am everyday, then signed our register and we stayed in our alloted classroom. They welcomed us very gladly. We collected timetable from Pushpa teacher the first day itself.
According to the timetable I donot have any classes today but I had substitution class in my concerned class at 9.A where I took the topic Role of biomolecules in the functioning of a cell from first chapter namely To the life processes.There was no classes for me today and I did my works and we left the school after 3.40 where the bell rang.
In the second day also we all reached at 9.30 PM after signing the register we went to our alloted classroom. Today at first period I had substitution class at 9 A there I taught the topic Types of metabolism. Second period was free for me.Then the third hour I had substitution class at 9 E there also I took the topic Role of biomolecules in the functioning of a cell.Fourth period was free for me and again at 5th period I went to 9 A as substitution class ,in that class I had given notes for children and they all done it much interestingly and the whole afternoon periods was free for me and at 3.40 we left the school after signing the register.
The third day wednesday we all reached the school at 9.30 a.m. after signing the register we went to our alloted classroom. The first two hours are free for me Physical education sir invited us as invigilator for spc entrance test of standard 8 students .I served as it until the third period then I had class inu concerned class at 9.A where I took the topic Enzymes and Hormones- functions and examples. Then during the lunch break my concerned teacher informed me that my concerned class was changed to 9.D which was an English medium class due to some changes in time table and also she informed to start teachers from forth topic in the chapter.Then the whole periods are free for me and I did my works and we left the school after 3.40 after signing the register.
During the fourth day of this week we reached school at 9.30 am. Today we had assembly, todays assembly was conducted by class 10.C. In the assembly there was a class about Rabies, how it is spreading, precautions to be taken and so the class was taken by Health department. Then the first period was free for me , 2nd period I got substitution in 9.E where I took the topic types of metabolism then I had substitution class at 9.A and on afternoon I had class in my concerned class 9.D there I took the topic Process of transfer of substances into the cytoplasm in different organisms whole other periods are free for me and I did my works.
In this week saturday was also a working day .Today physical test for selection of spc candidated was conducted in school.All teachers and senior cadets have duty there so no classes are conducted due to minimum number of students.

During the first week the students of class 9 were taught The topics role of biomolecules in functioning of the cell, types of metabolism, enzymes and hormones,Process of transfer of substances into the cytoplasm in different organisms and Internal environment and maintenance of homeostasis covered for them by using various aids such as charts, models, diagrams ,videos and slides
The reflective journal was also completed this week
In the third day of this week spc entrance test was there for class 8 students and we had duty on the day as invigilator.
During the 6th day of the week physical test was conducted for the selection of spc candidated from standard 8 .
OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
The students of class 9th standard were given teaching manual orientd activity based classroom experience.Five teaching manual of class 9 were complete effectively.The topics covered are biomolecules in functioning of the cell, types of metabolism, enzymes and hormones,Process of transfer of substances into the cytoplasm in different organisms and Internal environment and maintenance of homeostasis Evaluation was made by asking questions from the topics.Students were given various follow up work like assignments and still model making.
REFLECTION ON EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
A rabies awareness program was conducted on assembly by health department on thurday.
During saturday we prepared an academic calender for the school
